The Rothamsted Insect Survey (“RIS”) data collection is the property of Rothamsted Research Limited (“RRES”, “we”, “us” or “our”). It constitutes an internationally significant and unique resource funded by public money (i.e. Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC)) and contributed to by a network of volunteer, citizen scientists.
We therefore aim to make the data available as a public good, with as few restrictions as possible, to encourage scientific enquiry, collaboration, and innovation. We are making RIS data available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/ or such as up-to-date version of such licence as may be published from time to time.
When using the RIS data you agree to abide by and be legally bound by all the terms of this data sharing statement, including the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial licence, these Conditions of Use, How to Cite RIS Data and the Additional Legal Terms set out in this RIS Data Sharing Statement below. Non-compliance constitutes a breach of the licence granted to you by Rothamsted Research Limited to use RIS data and will be prosecuted by us.
